Dallas PD Investigating RV Fire as Arson, Homicide

Dallas Police are investigating an early morning fire in the city that they suspect is arson and a homicide.

Firefighters responded around 6:21 a.m. Sunday to a home in the Casa View neighborhood of east Dallas.

When firefighters arrived, they found heavy fire coming from an RV parked next to a single-story home, officials said.

Dallas firefighters were able to quickly extinguish the flames, which consumed the RV and damaged the adjacent home.

An elderly woman and a dog were found dead inside the RV, officials said. Two people inside the home next to the RV were able to escape unharmed.

Investigators reviewed surveillance footage from an alley behind the property that shows a car pulling up moments before the fire started. A man can be seen getting out of the vehicle carrying something, and seconds later, the RV ignites.

A neighbor said that his two friends had been living together in the RV.
